About Us

Matthew brings youth, energy, and vision to Cheyenne Mountain Presbyterian Church to reach a younger generation with the gospel. He was born in Texas, but grew up and lived in the mid-atlantic United States until he moved to St. Louis for seminary. He came to CMPC in 2017 and became our beloved young pastor. He’s an avid weight-lifter and runner. Matthew now realizes that what people on the East Coast call mountains are respectfully known as hills.

Jim helps drive our culture of welcome. He retired from the Air Force after 22 years and now works for Compassion International. He and his wife Mary are high school sweethearts. They were married in 1989 after Jim enlisted in the Air Force. They have 3 wonderful children Katie, Will and Jamie. They have lived in the Philippines, Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Idaho and now Colorado. Jim and Mary began attending CMPC in 2010.

David brings experience and wisdom from decades of church leadership. He’s been at CMPC from the beginning. He’s a wonderful shepherd with a great heart for people and has a special place in his heart for those in the military. David retired from the Air Force and now runs a dental practice here in town.

John brings a calm presence to our church and the elders. John is a musician and spent much of his Air Force career in the Air Force Academy Band. He and his wife Peggy have attended CMPC since 2008 and have been involved with the Music Ministry and various small group studies. John faithfully serves as Clerk of Session.

Steve Thompson was born in 1962 in Glasgow, Scotland, and came over to the US as an infant. Steve married Lisa in 1986, and they have two daughters, Morgan and Elizabeth. In 1993, the Thompson's moved to Raleigh, NC, and Steve later served as an Elder for Redeemer PCA, and then Peace PCA. Steve and Lisa moved to Colorado Springs in 2017, and have attended Cheyenne Mountain Presbyterian since 2019. Steve and Lisa live just up the hill in the Broadmoor Bluffs neighborhood, enjoy road trips with their RV, photography, target shooting and BBQ.

Brit was born in Denver and grew up in northern Colorado. While attending Colorado State University, he met and married Christina, enlisted in the Army National Guard, eventually becoming an officer candidate, and served as a Young Life and Campus Crusade for Christ leader. Brit and Christina have been blessed with four children: Brigette, Daniel, Emma, and Naomi, who all love Lord. Brit enjoys time spent with the family, learning about almost any period of history, playing board/card games, and talking all things Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.

Scott was born in Omaha, NE and grew up in and around the Midwest before returning to Omaha to finish high school. Scott and his wife, Marcia, have two children- their daughter Michelle was born in Rhode Island and their son Brent in Hawaii 18 months apart. Scott works in the space cybersecurity industry and enjoys time spent with family, traveling, reading the Bible, teaching, devouring books by exciting reformed authors, playing board/card games, and talking all things Missions or golf related.

Bill is gentle and very easy-going. He loves people and is willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Tom is generous and loves to serve. Former Army enlisted personnel, Tom is resourceful and can fix anything.

Randy loves to serve and brings years of business experience to help us operate efficiently and well.

Sam has been attending Cheyenne Mountain Presbyterian Church since the beginning of 2022. He moved to Colorado from Michigan in 2013 to begin a career in education. He currently works as a Dean of Students at James Irwin Charter High School. In this role, he works with students and parents helping them become the best versions of themselves. Sam is an avid photographer who enjoys nature and capturing beautiful scenes around Colorado. When he is not doing that, he is spending time with any of his 9 brothers and sisters and 30 nieces and nephews!

Greg was born and raised in Missouri. He is an Army Officer who has served the nation on active duty and in the reserve component for nearly 13 years. Greg currently works in the military space operations industry as a contractor. Greg is married to Mollie Hitt and together they have three children: Tristan, Melody, and Charlie. Greg currently leads the CMPC music team and has been playing guitar for over 20 years. Greg brings a Soldier's mind, a musician's taste, and a servant's heart to the CMPC diaconate.

Kathy brings decades of experience as a church secretary. She knows people by name and is good with details. She keeps our church running.

Whitney is good at problem solving and executing administrative tasks. She makes the behind-the-scenes details happen.

Anna loves kids and kids love her! She keeps our kids safe and runs a clean and loving nursery.
